SHoP Architects has long been a pioneer in merging digital technology with design and architecture, redefining how spaces are conceptualized, built, and experienced.
Its portfolio of work includes the global tech headquarters for Atlassian in Sydney, Uber in San Francisco, the world-famous Steinway Tower, the legendary Barclays Center, and the iconic Brooklyn Tower.
SHoP describes its work as “in the future”, and central to this approach is its commitment to enhancing the design process for clients, stakeholders, and in-house teams alike.
This commitment took form in their early adoption of a 360° Igloo immersive cylinder, named “Tranquility,” which has transformed SHoP’s New York office, located in the famous Woolworth Building, into a hub of interactive, communal design review.
Installed in 2019, we revisited it in 2024 to see how SHoP has been getting on since then.
