Axel Drioli

Currently freelancing exclusively as immersive audio designer and producer, Axel has been working in this audio field for quite a while. His focus is on Immersive Storytelling and how to integrate Spatial Audio to make immersive experiences more convincing and emotional. 

His goal is to make people aware of immersive sound, and how powerful it is. He finds any immersive technology useful to achieve this goal, from headset reproduction for an individual audience, to large loudspeaker arrays for shared VR experiences.

He worked on international 360 and VR projects, travelling all around Europe and Africa, and also collaborating with US companies. 

One of the 360 films he provided full immersive audio design and production for, called 'The Journey', recently won the Cine Golden Eagle Award for 'Best VR documentary short' and it has been screened at SXSW, Seattle Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, United Nations HQ (Bonn, Germany), Downing Street and Future of Storytelling Summit (NY, USA). Also, he was the '3D Audio Technical Coordinator' of SOMNAI, one of the first and biggest multisensory large-scale immersive theatre events.
