What we Learned at SXSW18

Making a splash at SXSW, in more ways than one
SXSW in Austin is one of the BIG events in the Igloo calendar. And, this year, we’ll be there in two capacities, both of which make us VERY proud.
Representing the best of British creativity
We're part of the Future Art & Culture program, put together by the Arts Council and British Underground. More specifically, we’ve built a #SharedVR space to host Beethoven’s Fifth, an immersive film directed by the exceptional Jessica Brillhart, featuring an up-close-and-personal performance by the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen.
To create the space, we’ve worked closely with our friends at Mixed Immersion, who have developed an awesomely effective ambisonic sound system (something we hope to incorporate into more Igloo happenings), under the direction of the Philharmonia’s irrepressible digital maestro Luke Ritchie.
You can see the installation at Austin’s JW Marriott from 13th to 15th March.
Representing the best of British business
We’re one of just 17 companies selected by the UK Department of International Trade (DiT) to represent the best and brightest of the British tech scene at SXSW.

But, will we top last year’s accolades?
Of course, it’s not the first time we’ve been to SXSW. Last year, for example, we were enlisted by Giorgio Armani to help create the ultimate SXSW film festival venue, named by Mashable as one of the coolest installations of 2017.
Be sure to come and see us
If you’re planning a trip to SXSW, let’s definitely meet up.
We’d love to host you at the DiT stand in the Convention Center. We’ll also be running a number of demonstrations at the specially created Virtual Cinema installation in the Marriott. But, with so much happening, we’d urge you to get in touch now via info@igloovision.com.
